I am currently attending the University of Alberta. I am in the process of obtaining a BSc in Human Ecology, with a major in family studies. I love school, being active, discovering neat things within our community, socializing, meeting new people, challenging myself, and volunteering. I love being connected to my age group and opening myself up to new pespectives.

You should vote for me to represent our generation and all the different wants and needs we have throughout this time in our lives.

Create Yourself.

I find that the most fascinating thing in life is a human’s ability to continually create. It is an amazing gift for one to be aware that we each create our own experience of life and through this awareness, we can choose to take steps toward our dreams.

When we become aware of this, we can consciously choose to create our lives and experiences as we desire. When I became present to the fact that I am responsible for my life and that I can create whatever it may be that I choose, I was left with a freedom of endless possibilities and the inspiration to get into action. As with others my age, I felt that over the past few years, I had been on a continual search for answers to who I “really” am and what I am “supposed” to do with my life. As I continued to look, I found that it was completely possible for me to continue searching forever and ever and never find those perfect answers. So, instead of searching for indications of who I am “supposed” to be or what my life “should” look like, I decided to stop the hunt and simply started creating. I am now continually creating who I am in this world and designing my life day after day. By being active in the community and challenging myself, I continually get to see that I will never have all the answers, and that is completely perfect. By being present to this day af ter day, I create openness and freedom for myself, allowing new experiences and opportunities to come into my life. By letting go of my search for what I thought was the “right” thing to do, I have been left with the freedom to simply create and inspire.

By connecting with others throughout Alberta, I want to expand on our generation’s awareness of all the opportunities available to us. I want our youth to be aware that they can create for themselves whatever they desire and that there are communities of people supporting them on their journey. When we realize that it is okay that we don’t have all the answers, we are left with a freedom to reach out to others, share our passion, and get into action. Let’s take advantage of the unlimited possibilities that lie in our province and create lives that we love!
