Natalia's current situation:

I am Natalia! I am high-energy, fun-loving and reliable. I currently work at the G.H. Dawe Community Centre as a lifeguard and swim instructor! I am constantly in the public eye and enjoy being around people; I get along with many different people from all walks of life. In 2010, I graduated high school from Lindsay Thurber in Red Deer. I am nineteen years old. I took the last year off from schooling to work and gain some life experience, and in September I will be attending Red Deer College. What interested me about the Servus Canada, Young and Free Search was that I have the personality and knowhow for the position. I know that I make a very suitable applicant. Hopefully you will consider me!

Natalia's blog post:

I believe that it is vital to give our generation a voice. I am very happy to see that a financial institution is on board with generation Y! It is very rare to see a financial institution that provides a variety of different options and accounts for young people. I have a Young and Free chequings account, an early start savings account and a Servus credit union MasterCard. I switched over about a year ago because I heard that Servus gave back to their investors and because I was tired of paying close to fifty dollars a month to a bank that never gave back anything to me; ever since I switched I have been able to be more money conscious.

In a world that is vastly becoming more and more technological, there needs to be a place where young people can learn and gather more information about financial planning. Especially since more than three quarters of us young people have access to a computer and the internet at home. It is becoming a necessity to be online, whether it is through social networking or email or learning new programs and skills. Nowadays, it is rare to apply or learn a new skill without the usage of technology. Almost everyone has a cell phone, an email, a blog, a social networking site such as, but certainly not limited to Facebook or Twitter

Oftentimes, young people feel as though they are brushed over by generation X and the baby boomers, when in fact, we are the highest demographic. I believe that we are blessed to have great opportunities to showcase our youth. My goal is to ensure that the youth of Alberta no longer have to feel as though they are drowning in uncertainty when it comes to finances. We all have our dreams and goals for the future. I wish to assist in providing an easier access to information for our young generation. I want to represent each individual aged 17-25, so that they may accomplish their aspirations for the future; whether your goal is to go to school, provide for your children in the future or to ensure a healthy retirement. With technology advancing at a rapid rate, one of the easiest and most accepted ways to communicate is through the usage of technology. In a society that is moving towards using more technology it is vital that the youth of the twenty-first century have a place to communicate, learn and express ideas with one-another. I will do everything in my ability to represent you as best as I can! Alberta, Vote Natalia Chiles to be your Young and Free Spokester, you won’t regret it!

Natalia
