My name is Ami G, and I'm in my third year at the U of A. I'm in the faculty of business, and have so much fun with it. I don't take a large course load because I like staying extra-curricular and involved in my community :)
Here is Ami's blog post:
It is so important for organizations (like Servus Credit Union!) to realize the potential of getting on board with our generation. The work force is changing because the traditional vertical hierarchy set-up does not match the interactive nature of the youth.
Because the same information is available to everybody now, anyone can learn anything! It is no longer about who currently knows the most, it is about who is the best and fastest at learning. Since we all have the same resources, we all have the same chance. This is why our generation MUST be do-ers in order to succeed. If you are not motivated to excel, someone else will be that one mouse-click ahead of you and beat you to your dreams.
So here I have a couple tips on getting motivated and getting started on whatever it is you’d like to do.
-Whatever your goals are, make sure they are something you are passionate about; that you mean it. Don’t let it be your parent’s dreams, or what you think is expected of you, because the only way to do your best is to want to do it yourself.
-Take care of yourself and stay energized: Even if it makes sense to you that putting yourself 100% into something will maximize success, you are wronggg. Be good to yourself and exercise, get fresh air, and sleep well. If you aren’t energized you simply won’t do as well, and might lose motivation.
-Have you ever read the book “The Secret”? I believe that it is good advice! If you stay positive, the positivity will follow you! If you run into problems think about how to fix them instead or lingering on them. Keep motivational pictures near by. If you’re getting sick of work, take a break and look up those new shoes that you can buy with your next paycheck, or daydream about that house you’re saving up for.
I hope this tips help you stay free, and work towards your dreams <3
