Can Larissa do 100 pushups?
Many people take advantage of the beautiful summer months to develop a fitness program. I am not one of those people (if any of you recall one of the first blog posts I wrote while Y&F was still in the voting stage, you'll understand one of the reasons why).
Take this past week, for instance. My most strenuous physical activity from this past week is a tie between 1) playing hard guitar on Rockband and 2) running upstairs to grab my sunglasses. Yikes.
It's not as though I dislike exercising... I realize it's very important and exercising makes me feel good – but whenever I find myself with a free half-hour, I'd much rather read a magazine or do some drawing than roll out the pilates mat. I feel as though I'm motivated enough to set a fitness goal, but when I'm in the moment, procrastination always wins over.
That's why I was excited to hear about the One Hundred Push Ups program. It's a website that outlines a training plan. If you follow it for six weeks (at 30 minutes a week), by the end of it you should be able to do 100 pushups in a row.
Now to me, that sounds absolutely foreign. 100 pushups?? That would make me as strong as Rocky! Or Rambo! Or Sylvester Stallone!
What I like about it is that it's a very objective goal. The effort you put into it will lead to a concrete result (which I personally find more motivating than putting in effort for "general physical improvement").
So check out the site and see if it's something that interests you. I'm going to do my initial test today, and start the program on Monday.

Have a great Wednesday,
