Credit Unions are awesome!
So I was in training all last week and I learned so much about Servus Credit Union! I feel like I was so oblivious to before I opened my account at Servus!! But now that I know about Credit Unions I would never switch back to a bank! I can't believe that I stuck with a bank for so long just because my parents were with one.
Now let me tell you about some of the highlights for me.
1. Free Young & Free Chequing Account
This is SO awesome because you don't have to pay ANY monthly fees! That really adds up! Just think of it, if you’re currently paying, say $10 per month in fees, you’d be saving $120 a year…and who wouldn’t want an extra $120 to put into their pocket!?
2. Profit-Sharing
Did you know that last year Servus Credit Union shared more than $42 MILLION dollars with members through the Profit Share program. HOLY – that’s wicked! At banks, the profits go to the shareholders. Pffttt. Not cool. At Servus Credit Union, it’s a whole other story as they share the profits with their member-owners. So, depending on how much business you do with Servus (i.e. savings account, Mastercard, loans, mortgages, etc) determines how much money you’ll get back! So basically you personally benefit just for doing something that you do anyway when you have Servus as your financial institution. I'll take it!
3. 100% Deposit Guarantee
You might recall reading news stories out of the United States last year where many financial institutions ceased to exist. Wow – imagine if that was your bank! Of course, in Canada it’s a different situation and the financial institutions are much more secure. Here’s a tidbit that you might not be aware of regarding just how secure your funds are at Servus Credit Union. They offer you a 100% Deposit Guarantee which means that when you deposit money, it’s guaranteed! At most other big banks you might think that your deposits are guaranteed (and of course they are to a certain extent) but the 100% guarantee is unique to Servus Credit Union.
So sign up for a Young & Free Chequing Account now! You won't regret! :)
