How to start a budget...
How to start a budget? Just do it! You might think that you have a budget but I know that it is just a number you have in your head that you don't actually stick to. You need to have an actual budget -- either on paper or on your computer. This way you are much more likely to stick to your budget.
Alberta's first spokesperson, Larissa, made a great video about a shoebox budget. Check it out below!
Personally, I like my excel spreadsheet budget. This one might not be as fun as a shoebox budget but it works! Open excel and create a spreadsheet. Write down all your expense categories, such as school, shopping, groceries, weekends, etc. Then write down your ideal spending amount/per month beside each. Each month enter in how much you spent in each category. If you go under, then you can even carry it over to the next month if you want! The secret is to keep your reciepts! This makes it so much easier!
