New poll: piercings, tattoos and funky hair

Happy Monday, Giants Fans (and tough luck Patriot People)!

Well folks, the Winter Activities Poll is wrapped! Looks like Skating/Hockey was the crowd stealer with 32% of the vote, followed by Toboganning at 18% (Skiing and Snowboarding were tied for third!).

This week's poll was submitted on the Y&F site. It asks:

Would dealing with staff who have piercings/tattoos/funky hair cause you to question investing or borrowing at a particular financial institution?

Hmm, good one. Not only does this question play into how you view people with tats and piercings, but also how you view your current financial institution.

I don't have a problem with people who are into ink and body jewelry. I'm not one to get a tattoo anytime soon, but I like watching Miami Ink and whenever I see someone sporting a masterpiece on their ankle or their shoulder, I'm sure to compliment them.

Even so, I probably would be a little taken aback if I saw a heavily tattooed and pierced teller at the credit union – not because of the body art, but because of the environment. I personally find the 'financial institution' stereotype to be way stronger than the 'people-with-tats-piercings-and-crazy-hair' stereotype. For some, it's the other way around.

The way I see it, service is what it comes down to in the end. If an employee is helpful, knowledgeable, and polite, they can wear whatever gauge earrings they want to. If an employee is disrespectful, unenthusiastic, and unobliging, they could have the crispest collar and shiniest shoes in town and I would still be bothered.

What do you think? Leave your comments below, and don't forget to answer the poll question!
