The best in-flight entertainment ever
So today I'm flying to Colorado. Random, eh?
The reason behind it: tomorrow I will be co-presenting a session at the CUES (that's Credit Union Executives Society) Summit in the States. Just trying to share some Y&F love across the border.
Because today will undoubtedly involve airports, luggage, ID, and confirmation numbers, I am anticipating a mild fiasco (no worries, I'll keep all of you posted).
I thought I'd also take today's travel opportunity to share with you one of my favourite in-flight time-passers. The next time you get on the plane only to realize that:
- You packed all your reading material in your checked baggage (again) or
- You forgot to charge your iPod (again) or
- There's no way you're shelling out 5 bucks for a headset,
Look to the seat pocket in front of you for your source of entertainment. That's right – I'm talking about the Airplane Safety Card.
After giving it a once-over to ensure you're up to speed on your safety procedures, you can spend hours (?) of time making up captions for the little safety dudes.
Take this prime example from Joe Pemberton's Flickr Set:

"In case of emergency, throw small children over the wing."
It also helps that most airline safety card graphics haven't been updated since the early 80s.
I'll see if I can't snap some sweet safety card on the way to Colorado today...
