Webthing of the week: bonus tip
In case you missed it: on Tuesday, Y&F's Back to School week featured a guide to improving your work or study space. The Bonus Tip to that article is also today's featured Webthing.
It all has to do with posture. Chances are, you're spending several hours at a time at your desk. Combine that with a poor choice of furniture, and you've got yourself a one-way ticket to bad posture and muscle fatigue.
The great thing is, you don't need anything fancy to send those work and study pains packing. You don't need the latest in ergonomic chair design, upper-lumbar support, or padded armrests. You just need to make sure that your chair and desk (and sometimes computer screen) are at the proper height.
How do you know what the proper height is for you? Check out today's Webthing of the Week: The Workspace Planner.
The Workspace Planner generates measurements for your seat height, elbow height and eye level based on your height (be sure to compensate if you wear shoes when you work or study!).
Follow the Planner's guidelines, and you'll have a more comfortable work or study space that will boost your concentration and productivity (as opposed to messing with it). Also, your back and neck muscles will thank you.
Have an ergonomic weekend,
Larissa
