Webthing of the Week: Viewzi.com
Hello everyone!
Today's Webthing of the week is Viewzi.com
Viewzi.com is a search engine with a twist. When you search for a subject, Viewzi doesn't return endless pages of links like Google or Yahoo does – instead, it groups content in a very different and eye-catching way. It's a search engine that focuses on the user experience.
When you enter your search, Viewzi returns a row of little windows that look like this:

Each window represents a different "view point" pulled from various sources. As an example, say you do a search for Steve Carrell.

The Celebrity Photo View returns pictures of Steve Carrell (or related to Steve Carrell) found on celebrity buzz and gossip sites:

The Video 3x View returns videos of Steve (movie trailers, interviews, and TV clips) pulled from three different sources of online video:

The Everyday Shopping View shows you Steve Carrell-related products (in this case DVDs and clothing):
The Web Screenshot View lets you look through tiny screenshots of all the Steve Carrell websites it finds. You can flip through it like a mini catalog before clicking onto a site:

There are many more views to choose from. If you're doing a search on a musical artist, there are views that will give you samples of their songs and show you their album art. There are also views for news stories, recipes, and much much more (try the 3D Photo Cloud View for fun!)
So if you plan to do any noodling around the internet this weekend, do it in style with the help of Viewzi!
Have a fantastic weekend,
Larissa
