Scholarship Essay Entry – Chelsa W.
Hello my name is Chelsa White and my dreams and ambitions are to bring together everyone in any community around the world. In university I am Majoring in Biology and Art with a minor in Japanese language, I plan to use these three completely different aspects to bring together the people of my community.
I believe that nature needs to be preserved and looked after in order for humanity to thrive and flourish. I also believe that we can learn many helpful and miraculous things by studying nature and all its secrets in order to live harmoniously and build a better healthier future for the next generations. In nature everything is connected to each other in webs, when one aspect of the web is affected it has a chain reaction into all other areas of the web. A community is exactly the same as a web in nature and each part of the community affects the others. By bringing the people together we can build a stronger more stable web that can benefit the community as a whole.
With art one learns to look at things differently and not just at face value, we learn to not only with our eyes but our hearts and soul. Not only do we look at the image as a whole but we look at the individual aspects that made up the work and the history that was happening at the time of its creation. I dream that this state of mind can be introduced into the community and to allow the people to view others and different aspects of life like this. It would allow for more understanding and acceptance throughout the community. It can lead to a healthier state of mind for the community that allows for improvement and growth with the people.
I strongly believe that every individual person in the community can benefit from learning things from others whether they are different nationality, age, shape or colour. By taking the time to look at other cultures we can also learn great things that will help bring everyone together as a community. It will also educate the younger generations about all the different people of the world and to accept things that are different from what they are raised in. We would be able to keep the world's history alive and thriving so we can learn from the past to move forward and make a better, brighter future.
