T-Shirt Design Entry 11 – Brooklyn D.
How does your design express the idea of building a better community?
On the front of my shirt I felt it very important to make a statement. I believe words are easier to interpret and although a logo can be aesthetically pleasing it can be confusing and hard to decipher. I used a definition so that people can see that the word change isn’t scary and intimidating, it can be simple and easy. In the example I made the word ‘change’ in a bright color and a large font. This is to grab people’s attention when they are passing by. I feel the front of my shirt is informative, motivating, and creative using the right amount of words and graphics. With the support from Servus credit union, credit is given to them on the shoulder (box would not have to be white; I could not find a way to correct it in my designing).
The ‘Feel Good Ripple’ logo shows the support from Servus credit union and states the motto behind the program. The words Be, Do and Act are there as a direct phrase for those who don’t have time to try and interpret a logo or a longer statement. The simple words reflect just how simple change can be. BE the change you wish to see, DO things that are kind and promote a better future and ACT in a way that allows for your community to grow and become a better place.
The words ‘young & free’ are a reminder that we are the future; the young and free can make the largest impact in creating a better world.
The colors used on the shirt are all colors found in the ‘Feel Good Ripple’ on shoulder. The shirt is trendy and appealing to the young adult population.
