How does your design express the idea of building a better community?

I wanted to create a design that would really speak to the public and attract their attention. As you look over the design from up close, you see a face whipping its hair back and forth. The reason I drew this image of a face throwing its hair around is because the whole idea of the project was how young people could bring change. What you often see are young people actively helping, building and supporting the community as well as wanting to build a better future.

However, as you look from afar, the image looks like a thick healthy tree. The reason I incorporated the image of a strong tree into the design is because only together as a strong community can we grow and prosper and bear fruit for the community and world to grow from. The shirt includes the words hope, pride, united, heart and passion. The reason I choose these words is because they stood out to me as I thought about the project of promoting a better future.

Hope: without hope people won’t have the courage and strength to start on building a better and bigger community.

Pride: People with strong characteristics and positive attitude towards change will achieve their goals and not sit back.

United: Only as one can we change the world and community, one step at the time.

Heart: Only with a united feeling for change can we accomplish a better tomorrow.

Passion: without the passion to make the change and a better tomorrow, we will be living a dream and not a reality.

Now just imagine what we can accomplish if we put this in action.
