T-Shirt Design Entry 31 – Leah Bel de T.

How does your design express the idea of building a better community?

I find that in our generation we are one another’s greatest influences so I hope that the message on this shirt is able to motivate and inspire those who come across it. My vision for a better tomorrow is inspired by the “feel good ripple” because it is a symbol that delivers a clear message about building a strong community based on the theory of, The Ripple Effect.

In illustrating the Ripple Effect I really wanted to highlight the importance of the notion that like “Every Ripple Has One Origin”, it only takes one person in a community to stimulate change in the world. The back of the shirt reads “I am One. Are You?” The statement is a bold response to the message on the front of the shirt. I also added the “feel good ripple” to the back centering the word “You” in the heart of the ripple to emphasize that these are words of encouragement inviting everyone to join a movement that “Strives to be the Cause of a Ripple Effect”.

I hope that the words on this T-Shirt serve as a reminder to everyone that we are all capable of being the origin that inspires change in building a better community. My intent in creating such a bold stated shirt is to express a message that is as strong as the person wearing it. In my vision, everyone who is wearing this T-Shirt is a leader in their own way.
