T-Shirt Design Entry 5 – Jesi M.

How does your design express the idea of building a better community?

1st the Tree represents the economy.

The forestry industry, which Grande Prairie is, more so than oil rig town.

2nd It also portrays your "roots"; many of us have come to Grande Prairie from other places. The people who have grown up here have traveled and returned home. People change with each place they visit, live or pass through and with each change comes new hope. Hope for future generations. Hope that people will be less judgmental and more understanding. Hope that as the future brings more technology, it will also teach us how, so very important, personal relationships are.

3rd The heart with an internal sunset represent the passion we should have for one another. The love each new day has the potential to bring. From the darkness of this tree new hope and love emerges, bringing with it everlasting acceptance.

In the spirit of new things the bottom of this shirt has many dots, which if this shirt was made the dark dots would be raised to reveal that it is Braille for the slogan, "Change starts @ the roots", to me this means it starts at home with me, with you,  & with everyone you have touched on your voyage so far through time.

To change our future we must grow & encourage.
